This is the COP pass card.

It took other people up to 8 hours to get it on the 5th - the last day of the conference (with the freezing weather)

9-10 December 09

I started my journey from the airport in Jakarta. Me, my mom and my dad waited for the boarding time at a Japanese restaurant. I had to eat a lot there because I knew that the food is going to taste really bad in the plane.
When it was boarding time me and my mom went to the gate leaving my dad behind (he was not planning to go to Copenhagen in the first place)

You would not want to hear the detail because it would be so boring, so long story short I was in Malaysia after a 1.45 minutes flight from Jakarta. Then we had half an hour to buy books, go to the bathroom and stuff. Then we had to go back on the plane and started the 13 hour flight to Amsterdam. I did not remember much about the flight since I spent most of the flight sleeping. So many times I woke up because the guy behind me cough so hard.

When I finally woke up it was 9.30 Jakarta time. I watched 2 movies on the plane, Julia child and de storm both interesting yet contrasting movies. The remaining hours of the flight I spent reading new moon.
When me and my mom arrived in Amsterdam, we spend half of the transit time in line for checking in. To be honest the interviewers that checks our passports were really scary. When that was all done we stopped at a couple of stores to buy chocolates!

We went to our gate for the flight to Copenhagen, the gate was very very far away, we ran and stuff, and eventually we arrived. Then we have to wait for the gate to the plane to open, my mom met her colleague and I was just so bored that I ate most of the chocolate. When I finally get into the plane, I moved around so much because the seats were very small (economy) 1 hour later we prepared for landing, and the stewardess went around offering stuff to buy, we bought 1 strop waffle, they don’t have the exact change so I bought 1 extra goodie bag and 1dutch chocolate.

When we arrived, it was still a bit dark. We went off the plane, we peed then we went outside and the people from the Indonesian embassy picked us up. Then we waited for the others to come, (took a really long time) I spent that time eating in star bucks, and I was really surprised by the price of food there! Anyways, we went to our hotel, I forgot the name, and then we checked in and place our stuff. I found out that the hotel was next to an ice bar. Interesting! I want to go there sometime. Then we went to other hotel and drop off some other people. Then we bought sim cards at the Central Station, we went to the Indonesian embassy afterwards to change cars ( I drank tolak angin there ! THE WORST taste, well not the worst but u feel like u just rink aroma therapy)

We went to the Bella Center afterwards to register my name and to get the UN pass. We have to go through a 15 minutes line. When we get to the front of the line, a person asks our name. I told them my name and the country I am from then they printed a white sheet of paper for me to write my name, the date and they asked my to singed it. They told me to go to the other line to take a picture. i brought the white sheet of paper with me, i sat down on a chair, they took a picture of me then they printed the ID card (a really cool one ☺) then we went inside and saw some side events, near the side events place there's a cloak room we place our coats there and we got a number for it. I lost the number, but I went back to the place later on and found it.

We later went to the Indonesian office which is like miles away from the entrance (probably like 500 meters ++) then we settled down there and put our stuff, I went out to get something from the vending machines but unfortunately they only accept coins so I went around for an exchange but I found nothing so I went to the entrance and found my coat number than I took a close look at the exhibitions, and I got a lot of goodies, books and CD’s. Then I went back to the Indonesian office, which was really tiring, open my laptop, played facebook, and wrote this :O

Cop 15

I just recently got back home from Copenhagen for the 15th Conference Of Parties. I was there with an organization called PLAN INTERNATIONAL as a youth delegate. It was like a dream come true to be given the opportunity to go there and see how the conference goes with my own eyes, especially because i have been involved with the Model United Nations in my school.

Unfortunately i have not been able to update my blog from Copenhagen straight away because my schedule there was very busy, because i had to make a couple of videos about the people who have been affected by global warming (like the citizens of Tuvalu). But i have written a journal on paper about my days in Copenhagen, so i am going to post most of it here. But bear in mind that the date is not the actual date that i written the journal.

Briefly i met a lot of interesting people who also care about the Global Warming Issue. From adults to children, from politicians to celebrities. I also got the opportunity of meeting the President Of Indonesia, and Al Gore at the same day :) that was the highlight of the trip.

i have a video about interviewing the NGO participants. you can view it in Youtube, but it is not the final version, so there is still some mistakes. wait for the final version :)
